Vine, Wine and Terroir Management

Objectives :
To train students to become experts specialising in the wine sectors, make them aware of the European dimension of wine production, and provide them with knowledge of techniques, technology, economics, organisation, strategies, marketing, and the consumer approach. To prepare students for a cross-cultural approach: foreign language classes, programmes offered in different countries and lectures given by teachers and experts of various nationalities.
Conditions for admission :
To hold a Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) + a good command of English and French (Spanish is optional). Application should be sent by April 15th, the course starts in September. Admission during the year is possible. Application fee: 50 € payable when sending in the written application form.
Curriculum :
7 modules in 3 different countries, 2 foreign languages besides mother tongue; Integrated oenology (wine-making process, environmental constraints, experimentation plan, sensory analysis); Wine economics and marketing; Knowledge of wine terroirs (characterisation of terroirs, wine "typicity", quality assessment); Wine-growing and environment; Course on the scientific approach (bibliography, statistics, project management). Study trips in three countries. Professional project in a company.
